GTX Hires Vince O’Sullivan for eFX Sales

eFX Specialist to Cover Europe, Middle East, Africa Sales to Funds and Banks

NEW YORK and LONDON, November 28, 2016 -- GTX, the institutional foreign exchange trading arm of GAIN Capital Holdings Inc., has hired Vince O’Sullivan as Director of electronic foreign exchange sales. He will be based in the company’s London office with a focus on selling to hedge funds and banks throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

O’Sullivan joins from Barclays Capital where he headed eFX Distribution for the BARX online platform in the EMEA regions. He started working in electronic foreign exchange in 2000 when he joined the bank team building the platform that eventually became BARX. He previously worked on the bank’s trading desk as well as in hedge fund sales.

“We are pleased to welcome Vince to the GTX team where he can apply his deep eFX experience and knowledge to the benefit of clients,” said John Miesner, Global Head of Sales, GTX Bermuda Ltd. “The EMEA markets are a key focus for GTX as we continue to expand our ECN into a truly globalized venue for price discovery and trading.”

The hiring comes as the ECN launched a matching engine in London in October 2016 and announced it will add a new matching engine in Tokyo January 31, 2017.

“I am excited to join GTX at this important point in the firm’s and, more broadly the foreign exchange market’s evolution,” said O’Sullivan. “GTX’s ECN offers tremendous value to clients through its active liquidity optimization, robust technological capabilities and array of credit and margin account structures, which are very well suited to meet the challenges facing the FX markets today.”
